Bold, smooth and beautifully lustrous, Aurifil 8wt is made for stitches you want to notice. This substantial 100% cotton thread is lovely for hand embroidery, decorative stitching, big-stitch quilting, cross stitch, Sashiko and other techniques where the thread itself becomes part of the design. It gives excellent coverage with a single strand, so thereโs no separating embroidery floss before you begin. Aurifil describes it as its heaviest 2-ply cotton thread.
Think: roughly 2โ3 strands of DMC stranded cotton in visual substance. One Aurifil tester described it as just a little thicker than the two strands of floss she normally uses for cross stitch.
